Adult Education

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that personal income and employment rates are significantly correlated to educational attainment. Whereas the average wage earner in the U.S. makes about $932 per week, an adult without a high school diploma or equivalent earns only $553. In 2018, the unemployment rate for these individuals was over 5%. They are typically the first individuals to realize the impact of a downturn in the economy. According to the Alliance for Excellent Education, not attaining a high school diploma or its equivalent results not only in challenges for the individual, but in significant costs to society.
